About
Travis is one of the main characters of THRIVE IN SPITE. He is a formerly famous musician who nowadays lives off royalties and odd jobs. He is the godfather of Ginger as well as Verona and Maeve's best friend.
Travis is an optimistic, sarcastic, loyal, and charismatic musician. A child prodigy and a jack of all trades, Travis is able to play most string and wind instruments with relative ease. His band was very popular in the rock and goth scenes before it disbanded, partially due to Travis's substance addiction, jealousy, and paranoia towards his band members.
To this day he feels guilt for his past self's actions, so he spends much of his time providing for and helping his loved ones. Sometimes he comes across abrasive and obnoxious, and often helps others at his own expense. Despite music and performance being his biggest passions, he can't perform in front of those outside his closest friends because he fears that the spotlight may corrupt him again.

Appearance
Travis is tall, lanky, and scruffy. He stands 5'10" or 178cm tall and weighs aprox. 140lbs or 63kg. He has both veritligo and hetrochromia. Due to his history of drug use and life-long malnutrition, he appears much older than he actually is and experiences daily headaches, impaired balance, etc. He prefers loose fits, light and blue colors, and an atheltic influence to his clothes.
Design Notes
- He has heterochromia. His left eye is brown and his right eye is blue.
- His vitiligo covers his entire right eye and goes down the ride side of his back.

Verona
Best Friend
Met in highschool detention after Verona defended Travis from bullies. They've been best friends ever since. During Travis's burnout, he put off reuniting with Verona out of shame until he finally wanted to get better.
Despite everything they've been through, they're always there for each other. Travis feels a lot of guilt for not helping his friend earlier, so he works very hard to provide for her and her daughter.

God-Daughter
As soon as he met her when she was about 1 years old, Travis has vowed to take care of her. He is functionally Ginger's second parent, taking care of her, playing, taking her to school, helping with homework, etc every day. He's always the one to engage with her hobbies and phases enthusiasticly every time.
When she's a bit older, she developes an interest in singing and performing due to Travis's influence. For the first time, instead of helping her, Travis becomes extremely anxious and tries to distract her from it. Ultimately, he realizes he is projecting and begins to support her instead.

Friend
After a chance meeting, Travis has taken an interest in Maeve's wellbeing because he sees his young self in their behavior. Maeve finds his help obnoxious, but they appreciate that he never asks about their past. Secretly, Maeve really looks up to him. Travis hopes to help Maeve channel their anxieties and anger into music.
